Graphics team Final pitch

Today we pitched our (close to completion) final promotional material. All in all I am happy with the final result, although not as good as the mock, solely due to the difficulty in  making the photos given fit.

Communication

Our group coordinator Caroline emailed Jason, of the Fda Contemporary dance course. The email was the ask if he would allow for some of the dancers to be taken aside a photographed to get a better suited image for the front of the promotional material. Hopefully he will grant us the time before next Wednesday when our final submission is.

Image manipulation

 Below is one of the better images said to have been taken, In order for it to fit our current design the dancer's background needs to be changed to the one used for the mocks that the client preferred. Also any brands on clothing also needs to be removed.

In essence all that has been done here is cutting out the model from the image before then placing it on the original background image chosen. Then messing around with the hue/saturation and levels to make the image look as glam as possible.

Although I don't like the overall composition as much as i did with the previous stock image used, I suppose this is more representative of the show that the viewers will see as it involves a dance pose thats actually incorporated into the show. To remove the brand on the trousers i used the cloning stamp to help make it look natural.

Photos

The graphics team has been given some photos of some of the Dance groups best dancers pulling aerial dance posed's. Although we had a favoured pose the dancers seemed unwilling to comply and decided to do there own versions, these ultimately being more difficult to make look as good as the chosen move. This mainly due to the poses having larger widths compared to height so the original poster lay out. This will likely lead to shuffling of a few areas of the layout.

Photo Hickup

The video team were unable to acquire a fitting photo over the Easter break during the filming slots so have said that they will get one this coming Wednesday, as they have new filming time allocated.

Easter Break

Over the easter break I have not been assigned any work as the graphics team were able to get the primary layouts complete and is now just waiting for a new photo for the background image.
