DVD box

With my idea for creating a dvd box i was looking at special edition units sold. I wanted to create a special edition box because it allows for the design to be inviting but also special. As it would be a special edition box it would have had to have an imaginary movie contained with, this posed a problem.

When looking at these two examples given the designers have chosen to go with quite heavy imagry. As shown in the monty python box set the designer has kept to the unique almost cut out like theme that is concurrent between monty python movies and memorabilia. In this instance i believe it works as it sells whats inside.

With the superman box set, with its heavy wrapped around image for me  dosent do it, its to picture heavy so make the box set look cheap.

Although the seriese being sold in the imge below is awful, i love the box set design. for me simple looks good almost all of the time and in this case make the product look even better than it is.

If i was continuing with my box set idea i would most likely  choose a simple but effect design as shown to the right.
