Client Response

After having spoken to the client it was arranged that I would design a logo that could be used on the website and which could be also be used on other forms of advertising such as the van. This use of an original logo would overcome copyright issues and would also better fit in with the website as it would be tailored specifically for this purpose. The logo could really enhance the website and should be both bold and striking so that it would stand out amongst rival business in the area who could all be competing for the same customers.

The Client

Client Summary For my brief I was given D.A.B Window Cleaning, a window cleaning business started in 1999.

D.A.B offer services such as;
-The cleaning of windows to schools, college, offices blocks, public houses, flats, shops, nurseries etc
-Domestic / Commercial contract cleaning services
-Customized service frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly)

Some main points to note about the business are;
-Use of the 'reach and wash' system using pure water technology
            An achievable height of 6ft 60ft
            5 stage water treatment systerm
            Carbon fibre poles
            100% pure graded water delivered to the window or facade surface
            Final rinse water dries to a perfect finish

-No chemicals or detergents used
-Environmentally friendly
-Fully insured
-Cover East Sussex

Client Brief The client initially asked for the following things to be including within the website design;

-The homepage background to be blue with water droplets under the writing
-Mention that one off cleans inside and out are available
-Under the contact can something such as 'Please feel free to contact D.A.B Window cleaning if you require a free estimate or have any queries about our services' be included
-Hit counter on the site

Initial Thoughts
After receiving the above information I felt I had a clear understanding of the clients needs. However in order to achieve a more tailored idea of specific things the client may want I decided I would contact him to clarify a few questions I had.

Interactive Design

Brief

Produce a website for a client.
For this assignment you will be given a client to produce a web site for.

These clients are working with a company called Links Creative
, who have negotiated the individual briefs with the clients.
Two websites have been commissioned. You will each be working individually to answer the brief and produce a website suitable to the client’s needs

Include: HTML and CSS code. The graphics will be made in a Photoshop and/or Illustrator, then compressed for the web. Build on the skills developed in the last web project to make the interactive user experience more sophisticated in this website. This will mean you can introduce interactive image display features such as remote rollovers and lightboxes, as well as enhancing the interactivity with features such as animated transitions.

Research

This web portfolio desgn has a nice look to it and is somewhat simple in desgn, it has easy navigation
and a wide interface for easy viewing

 I like this web portfolio design for its use of a little character to add a querky feel to the design, I also
prefer the large white text against the black background, makes the reading experience easier.

Brief
Now you have completed three design projects on your Foundation Degree Digital Media Design course, you have a set of images you can display in a personal portfolio website.  In this assignment, you will design and build a website containing your FdA work to date, plus any existing work you feel you should include in your portfolio and biography information such as an ‘about’ page and/or a CV.  This will form the starting point to your portfolio website which you will keep up to date with new projects throughout the course.
